To prepare an illustration of the overall system and generate a reproducible creative factory planning process, we develop descriptive and integrated models and building on these decision-making models for applications in the industry.
More information about our research strategies can be found here.
Current research projects:
- Model-based restructuring of factories (ReFa)
- Interdisciplinary Preliminary Study for Factory, Site and Network Planning in Metropolitan Regions (MetroPlant)
- Model-based configuration of projects to restructure production and assembly areas (MoKon)
As part of lectures we teach our students the current state of the art in the field of factory planning and related areas. Methods and tools for factory planning and project management are taught in application orientated exercises.
In industrial practice, we support companies of all sizes in systematic conception, detailed planning and evaluation of their production sites and factories. To fulfil the modern as well as future demands, the projects are always aligned with the corporate strategy. We develop solutions by means of standardized and proven practices where customer-specific objectives such as economic efficiency, adaptability and communication are important. In doing so, we can draw on 50 years of experience in factory planning.
