A high degree of market transparency and increasing environmental dynamics have steadily intensified the competitive conditions of manufacturing companies in recent years. The increasing demands of the customer for an individual design of the products lead to an increasing variety of variants and at the same time decreasing quantities. As a result, existing production sites must be adapted to changing market requirements in ever shorter cycles. This affects, among other things, the divisions of factory, technology and product planning. Coordination between these areas is extremely important, especially in view of the different life cycles of the objects under consideration. In practice, however, this is difficult to do. This means that interactions between these planning fields are often neglected and synergy effects are not exploited.

The aim of this research project is therefore to develop an integrative factory, technology and product planning process. Integrative factory, technology and product planning is based on a coordinated planning process that tries to avoid as far as possible the need for factory conversion driven by the introduction of new products or technologies. By synchronizing the planning areas, key parameters such as future requirements for the building or the structure can be coordinated and taken into account in advance.
