Content of the Tutorial

The use of simulation systems has become essential in the planning and subsequent optimization of complex manufacturing plants. For example, many companies use the market-leading material flow simulation software Plant Simulation to virtually investigate manufacturing processes, aspects of work planning and control, and machine malfunctions.  The aim of the tutorial is to learn how to use the software Plant Simulation and to enable students to use it autonomously for the development of complex simulation models.

The following contents will be covered:

  • Introduction to simulations
  • Structure of simulation models
  • Evaluation of simulation runs
  • Linking simulations with other systems (e.g. Excel)
  • Various accompanying exercises

Registration

The maximum number of participants is limited to 20. The registration procedure takes place on Stud.IP. The registration period as well as the date for the random selection can be found on Stud.IP.
